Throughout the latter half of 2019, the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation and the ASA-Philippines Foundation forged a partnership for the socio-spiritual development of the administration and staff of the latter through the Ninoy and Cory Leadership Journey. (NCALJ) Last November 8-9, at the scenic Schoenstatt Retreat House in Talisay City, Cebu, 44 area administrators partook of the NCALJ. They went through rigorous modules focusing on the importance of prayer, discernment and self-sacrifice in the life of a leader, espousing these ideals Ninoy and Cory lived by.

The program was led by the NCAF Program Director Mr. Jampao Reyes. Notable portions of the program helped the participants describe their current life situations, delved into their current vocations in ASA and their particular life stories and experiences.

Guest keynote speaker Mr. Bobby Guevara then gave a talk on Heroic Leadership. He started with explaining about the importance of self-assurance in an effective leader then went into concrete examples of individuals. These people live or lived in the glorious light of either day-to-day or life giving heroism so he bridged these stories with the personal experiences of the participants in their lives and work.

Mr. Reyes then gave the participants a chance to affirm each and were serenaded with songs by select members of the NCAf Music Ministry. The program ended on a high note the following morning, punctuated by the commitment activity. The group’s commitments will be kept by ASA and showcased as a reminder for the employees later on.
