The continuing scourge of the pandemic has barred a large population of Catholic from public forms of worship. Painful as this might be for them, the challenge presented has borne the weight of evangelization on those at the frontlines of faith.  For more than a year now, the Church has survived a glaring absence of physical presence through the efforts of leaders in Basic Ecclesiastical Communities. They have been truly living out the meaning of loving and serving the Lord in the face of trials and tribulations.

Through an Online Journey Recollection Session, the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation caters to the possible need for further reflection and calls to action for these church workers. Last April 18, thirty-four church staff and volunteers of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Novaliches paused, reflected, then renewed the vibrant spirit of their missions.

One participant put it succinctly when he summed up his experiences working as a faith frontliner in dark times such as these: “In omnibus, Amare et Servire Domino: In everything, Love and Serve the Lord.” Whether in joyous times or the tempest, loving and serving the Lord is a heaven commanded duty shown in love and service for the last, lost and least of their brethren.
