Over the course of 4 sessions, on June 24, July 29, August 4 and August 11, over 70 CICLs from the National Training School for Boys came home to the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Leadership Journey. Once a regular fixture for the boys to be able to relax, unwind, and reflect- the Journey for them had become a casualty of the continuing pandemic wrought by COVID 19 in our country. Thankfully, technology has adapted much over the last year- so using online modalities, the NCA Leadership Journey was once again able to proceed in the joyous grounds of Tanay’s NTSB complex.

Mr. Jampao Reyes, NCAF Program Director, and Ms. Lucilla Larracas, head Psychologist of the Center, worked together to make sure the participants would be able to make the most of every session. Utilizing Ninoy and Cory’s leadership essentials of Prayer, Discernment, and Self-sacrifice, they were invited to take deep introspective looks on their lives- both as individuals and as part of the community they belong to. The hustle and bustle of life often leads us to forget who we are in our hearts, and these participants are no exception to that truth. Through a short half-day session, they were brought to certain realizations that may hopefully aid in the self-awareness to know who they are, and who their creator has made them out to be.

The screen-limited presence of the NCAF team did not hinder the fruits of the original Journey program to once more usher in new dawns of servant leaders in these participants- together we look forward to better, more hopeful days in the spirit of this servant leadership.
