Fourth Batch of Public School Teachers from Navotas National High School undergo NCAF Journey

On February 23 to 24, 2019, fifty (50) public school teachers from Navotas National High School (NNHS) underwent the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Leadership Journey (NCALJ), held at Manresa Retreat House in Banawe, Quezon City. The NCALJ is based on Ninoy and Cory’s own brand of spiritual-leadership. For two (2) days, the participants were given opportunities to rest, recharge, and reflect on their personal journeys as teachers and servant-leaders.

With themes of, “I Am Loved,” “I Want to Love Back,” and “I Serve,” the participants remembered key moments in their lives where they felt the love of God and the people around them, as well as moments that inspired them to choose their particular vocation. The teachers were also divided into sharing groups, where each was able to share their stories with one another. They were also given an opportunity to express their gratitude and forgiveness towards one another.

The participants also heard talks from Culiat Elementary Teacher Sabrina “Sabs” Ongkiko and Ateneo High School Teacher Onofre “Pagsi” Pagsanghan. Teacher Sabs shared about her journey as a teacher and striving to give her students the best care and “malasakit”, while Sir Pagsi urged the teachers to see the value in their work – teaching as a calling and meaning of one’s life.
