Ninoy and Cory Aquino Leadership Journey for the OVP

As the pandemic continues to ravage through our nation, the needs of those who live in poverty add up exponentially. A system overwhelmed by COVID can no longer seem to keep up with the effects of waging war against an unseen enemy – illness has crept up and knocked on the doors of so many, seemingly closer to home every time.

The measure of true public service has been tested for more than a year now; and the hardworking Public Servants at the Office of the Vice President are living testaments to this fact. On June 9, twenty-five of them were introduced to Ninoy and Cory’s leadership ideals of Prayer, Discernment and Self-Sacrifice through the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Leadership Journey. Through an emphasis on the importance of mindfulness, their missions were renewed and reinvigorated.

AnĀ evening of catharsis and introspection made foggy and weary eyes clear once more to their missions at hand. Amidst the flurry of trials brought about by the difficulties faced by our country on the daily, hope has the final word. Hope is made the final word by public servants who put duty over self, whether in small or big ways.
