Online Journey for the Bureau of Corrections Teachers

ADCCAE4A-64FF-476E-896B-36D0A660E52AIn the continuing solidarity of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation to bring the process of reflection to the lives of the servant-leaders in our country’s Penal system, the NCA Online Leadership Journey was shared with new companions: teachers of the Bureau of Corrections Educational System. With two separate sessions on November 17 and 29, fourty five teacher participants were given the chance to pause, reflect and renew their minds and hearts. Through the leadership values of Ninoy and Cory embodied in the virtues of prayer and discernment that lead to self sacrifice, the concept of a loving service was introduced to them.

Under the facilitation of NCAF Program Director Mr. Jampao Reyes, participants were invited to identify shared and personal experiences throughout the last year marred by the COVID-19 pandemic. Important links were made to connect their lives as individuals, to their lives as servant-leaders for the good of the nation. Many were brought to tears in recalling the harrowing difficulties living in a state of quarantine has brought to them- but all realized that, like the brightest stars shine in darkest nights, the work they do comprises the soul of a nation scorned by the pain of poverty and injustice.
