Public Servants from BJMP and Manila City Jail undergo the NCA Leadership Journey

On April 28 to 29, 2018, thirty-nine (39) public servants from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Manila City Jail underwent the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Leadership Journey at the Punta de Fabian Resort in Baras, Rizal. Here, the participants spent the two-day Journey reflecting, praying, and getting much needed rest.

The participants also learned different modules on leadership such as the module on the Transcendent Values and the module on Integrity. Here they learned that a quality of a true servant leader is one who’s values are more oriented towards the needs of others and not simply for the benefit and gain of the self. They also learned that servant-leaders must do good at all times, even when no one is looking. The participants also listened to Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) former Deputy Director, Martin Perfecto. He shared about his experiences working in BuCor and encouraged the participants to uphold their values despite the many challenges being in the reformation profession.

Manila City Jail warden, Randel Latoza, together with the participants thanked NCAF for the two-day Journey. They greatly appreciated the chance to get to know each others’ stories and encourage one another to continue doing their work with compassion and self-sacrifice.
