Young Indigenous Leaders from Pamulaan undergo the NCA Leadership Journey

Held at the Pamulaan Center for Indigenous People’s Education University of Southeastern Philippines, Mintal, Davao City, thirty (30) young indigenous leaders underwent the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Leadership Journey (NCALJ) for College Students on May 5 to 6, 2018. This is the third batch of IP Youth from Pamulaan to undergo the NCALJ.

The IP participants spent the two days reflecting on their life-stories, sharing their stories with one another, and listening to different modules on leadership, reflection, and self-sacrifice. The participants also listened to various speakers such as Fr. JBoy Gonzales SJ, Ateneo de Davao Administrator for Formation, NCAF’s own Mike Shimamoto, Light of Jesus Family missionary and formator, Niko Capucion, Ateneo’s Associate Dean for Student Formation, Bobby Guevarra, and NCAF Executive Director, Rapa Lopa.

Participants were also given opportunities to have individual consultations with present facilitators, such as Philippine Toy Library President, Edsel Ramirez, NCAF Trustee, Jaime Lopa, and NCAF Program Director, Jampao Reyes. In the end, the participants thanked NCAF for the fruitful two-day program and hoped that it continues to be given to future students from Pamulaan.
