On February 28, held at the University Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, inside Ateneo de Zamboanga, the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation Music Ministry (NCAFMM) performed for the “Himig ng Pag-Ibig: A Vocation Concert.” The event was an initiative of the Ateneo de Zamboanga Campus Ministry Office.
Taking a deeper look into the different kinds of vocations, the event was divided into three (3) main themes: Vocation for Single-Blessedness, Vocation for Married Life, and Vocation for Ordained Priests and Ministers. Members of the Ateneo de Zamboanga community shared their stories regarding their personal vocations: Ms. Pilar de Guzman for Single-Blessedness, Mr. Joel and Mrs. Rose Gregorio for Married Life, and Bro. Bok Arandia for Ordained Priests and Ministers. Each person relayed their memorable experiences that convinced them to commit to their chosen paths. They also shared the difficulties and joys found in each vocation. NCAFMM accompanied these stories with love songs and other inspirational songs. Ateneo de Zamboanga alumnus, Shalini Dalis, also rendered a few songs, also joining the NCAFMM for the finale numbers. Seminarians from the St. Joseph Seminary of Ipil also sang a few songs and joined the company for the finale.
Ateneo de Zamboanga University President, Fr. Karel San Juan, gave his closing remarks, thanking NCAF for their music and time, and also encouraged the community to discern and commit to their personal vocations, listening closely to the words of God.
Proceeds from the event were turned over to the St. Joseph Seminary of Ipil.
