ASA Area Administrators for the Visayas Region Undergo NCAF Journey

The Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF) and the ASA Philippines Foundation, Inc. continues its partnership with another Leadership Journey for ASA’s Area Administrators for the Visayas Region. Held at St. Elizabeth Retreat House in Tacloban City, forty-five (45) ASA participants spent July 26 to 27, 2019 reflecting, learning, and re-energizing together as one company.

NCAF’s Program Director, John Paulo “Jampao” Reyes led the participants in various modules on leadership, based on Ninoy and Cory’s own brand of spiritual-leadership. Ninoy and Cory Aquino believed that a good leader is not only one who has sufficient skills and knowledge, but one who has integrity and love for God and country. The two-day program revolved exclusively around these values. On day one, participants looked back at their personal journeys, identifying moments of care and service. Through the module, “Connecting the Dots,” the participants reflected on how these experiences motivated them to choose a profession with ASA and their varying reasons for continuing to work hard. Afterwards, the participants were divided into their sharing groups, where each member was given a chance to share his or her life-story. Participants shared how refreshing it was to hear their co-workers’ stories, as well as sharing their own experiences.

The next day, the ASA employees focused on gratitude and commitment. The group had an opportunity to write their co-workers notes of either “thank you” or “I’m sorry” (or both). Mr. Reyes shared how it was important to not only provide excellent service to their clients but also build an understanding and compassionate environment within the company, as well. The program ended with a commitment activity. Each participant was given a chance to write their personal commitment to ASA and share this with the group. The group’s commitments will be kept by ASA and showcased as a reminder for the employees later on.
